About Larry
Experience you can ask questions about.
I help landlords explore a different side of real estate: owning the payments.

Meet Larry Hoffman
I'm the Managing Member of LJH Investments, LLC. I've invested in real estate since 2006 and am based in Madison, Indiana, with roots in Cincinnati, Ohio.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in software engineering from the University of Cincinnati. That analytical background shapes the questions I ask about a loan's payments, documents, and potential problems.
I've worked on the property side of real estate. Today, I prefer evaluating mortgage notes. A note changes the responsibilities, but it does not remove the risks.
Online, you may know me as The Note Doctor or through LarryBuysNotes. LarryBuysNotes serves note sellers; LJH Investments explains the business and my approach.
Person. Property. Paperwork.
A strong spreadsheet isn't enough. I want to understand the borrower, the collateral, and the documents that establish the rights being purchased.
Read my review framework →Workouts before foreclosure.
When a borrower falls behind, I consider whether a practical workout is possible. Foreclosure is an option when needed, not a promised outcome or the starting goal.
Servicing records, legal review, and realistic costs matter throughout the process.
Education and public conversations
I share note investing education through Note Prospectors, LinkedIn, and video content. Education helps people ask better questions; it doesn't guarantee an investment result.
